Past 3am - Not exactly the perfect time for inspiration

Well I guess if you are a writer, inspiration really can strike at any moment.

So, She Dances

In her head the music begins.

It’s soft and wispy

like a dandelion seed

falling to the grass.

Body swaying.

Hair gliding with the wind.

Eyes shut to feel the rythym.

So, she dances

Stars begging to come alive.

Some animals awaking, others off to sleep.

Dirt crunching beneath her feet.

So, she dances.

The music’s building.

Colors flicker behind her eyelids.

Branches clashing together, sound

like a frenzy of beating drums

It stops and all is still.

With her eyes still closed

she rocks a few seconds more

with a twirl it all comes to an end

That familiar excitement still rushing through her veins

So, she dances

Wow, It's 2012: Reflection On My Fall Classes

I never thought I would blog on this website again. However, I just happened to read these posts I made for class two years ago and loved it. It kind of documented my time and thoughts here at TLU. So, I've officially decided to blog more frequently here now in order to have a time capsule to look back on when I graduate.

I am now a junior and here are my classes this semester

Mon -Wed-Fri

• Creative Writing: Fiction
• Film Studies: Women with Direction
• Advanced Composition (only Mon. and Wed)

Thurs - Fri

1. Sculpture I
2. Old Testament Studies

           Creative Writing focuses on short stories. It is the most amazingly, creative, mind exhausting class I've had here. Writing creatively in general is great. This may be the writing nerd in me, but I love creating characters and their different worlds.  As a bonus, if you take a class with Dr. Johnston, you can never go wrong
           Film Studies with Vrooman.... that is one seriously tripped up journey. Not that it's bad, because honestly there is never a dull  moment. It's just that sometimes it may be terrifying to never have a predictable day. For the most part though I'm enjoying the laughs and what I'm learning.  By the way women with direction means we are focusing on women directors and the question of feminism/ how women are portrayed in film. We watch movies specifically directed by women and also learn the techniques used in film-making. On a smaller note, it would be awesome to take a class with Vrooman again if I could
          Advanced Composition really uses up a lot of my brainpower. I live for creating mind blowing academic papers, but we've only done one so far and I'm ready for a long break. We'll create blogs that have to sort of be related to our major  sometime soon - that seems like fun, but who knows
          Sculpture........ I don't get why my hands won't do what my brain is telling it to do. I love art and creating. Yet, my projects aren't coming out as I envision them. So, it is sort of a let down.
          Professor Foster is interesting. I like learning about scholarly opinions of the bible, and reading the old testament. So, overall I'm glad to be in this class.


So, this is what I am doing for the rest of this semester. I hope that I will actually be able to blog at a consistent pace. So with fingers crossed and a short prayer, here's hoping.
